Lyophilised research compounds are generally stored dry at 2–8 °C, sealed and protected from light. Repeated freeze-thaw cycles are the most common cause of avoidable degradation.

Allow vials to equilibrate to room temperature before opening so that condensation does not enter the vial.

Once in solution, keep refrigerated and aliquot where practical so that the whole batch is not repeatedly warmed.
