How Reconstitution Works

Reconstitution is the process of returning a lyophilised powder to solution using an appropriate diluent selected by the laboratory.

Concentration is calculated as mass divided by the volume of diluent added. Recording this figure on the vial avoids errors later.

Direct the diluent against the vial wall and swirl gently rather than shaking. This article is general education, not a protocol.
